GOING UP IN SPACE?

Making custom solutions for transport or storage seem to be filling up our work book these days but this project was a particularly interesting one to be involved in.

We were given recently a very interesting project to fabricate a custom transportation system for satellite components, for their transport in and out of clean rooms at the production facilities. The parts needed to be anodised as well so that any foreign bodies picked up within the clean room could be identified.

Measuring in at 700mm x 500mm approximately we started the fabrication process by laser cutting the design on flat sheets of steel, folding the various parts that needed the help of our press brake, CNC milled the posts and then of course anodised everything!

Sadly these cases won’t be going up in space but will be responsible for holding securely the parts being transported to production sites, which are needed to make satellites, which will be going up in space.

As the space race continue we hope we get to be involved in more projects like this.
